 Arbre Il est représenté debout et déraciné dans l'écu. Lorsqu’il occupe une autre position, on le désigne par les expressions posé en bande, en barre, en fasce, etc. Chaque espèce peut se distinguer par ses fruits comme le chêne, le pin, l’olivier, etc. ; on la désigne par ces noms. L'émail de l’arbre est habituellement le sinople; si le fût est d’un autre émail, on l’appelle arbre fûté ; écoté s’il n’a pas de branches; effeuillé s’il n’a pas de feuilles; arraché si on voit les racines.
