При описании обращается внимание – правая или левая рука изображена; выпрямленная (erect), согнутая (embowed) или counter-embowed; одетая (vested), в наруче/латная (vambraced), вооружённая/латная (armed) или нагая (naked), иногда – в кандалах/с манжетой (cuffed). У отсечённой руки указывается где именно. Отсечённая в локте называется cubit-arm. Защищённая металлическими пластинами до локтя (elbow) называется brassarts.<br />
