Hare заяц фр. lièvre, а также кролик (фр. lapin), всегда описываются сoney (и в одном случае the leveret), часты в гербах, если обратить внимание, - то нет правил, диктующих изображение их различий. Наиболее часто они изображаются сидящими (sejant), и если нет конкретного пояснения, то их надо изображать именно так; но при блазонировании встречаются термины courant, boltant, passant, salient, и (хотя и неправильно) rampant; а также feeding (питающийся), и выходящий из норы issuing from their burrows, наиболее интересный из всех случай – это заяц, играющий на волынке (см. bagpipes). Единожды встречается голова зайца.
