Самое раннее сделано силами королевской комиссии (кажется, что Gloucester, Worcester, Oxford, Wilts, Berks и Stafford) в 1528-29. С этого времени несколько графств (counties) посещались нерегулярно до Великого восстания (Great Rebellion). Вскоре после Реставрации практика была восстановлена, но комиссия воссоздана не была. Последнее датировано 13 мая 1686 года. Большинство «визитов» были опубликованы обществами или отдельными лицами, но некоторые все еще остаются только в MS.
