Ducks утки (фр. canard): Мы встречаем представителей этой очень большой семьи (anatinœ), представленных в геральдике несколькими именами. Собственно утка (duck), селезень (drake). Утка- пеганка (shield-drake, или sheldrake, как пишется (anas tadorna)). Кряква (wild-duck(anas boschas)), чирок (teal(anas crecea)), и дикая утка (mallard). Что означает sea-teal – не понятно. Утка- широконоска (sholarde, или shoveller(anas clypeata)), возможно, отличается двумя маленькими хохолками из перьев tufts of feathers, один – на голове сзади, другой – на грудке.

Мускусная утка (Muscovy duck(cairina moschata)) и луток (smew(mergellus albellus)) – основные (?) имена. The white nun (белая монахиня) – ещё одно название для smew, белой (?), термин cannet(fr. canette) – видимо, старое геральдичевское название для утки, которая представлена в профиль, и использовался, когда их несколько на щите.
