Ash
- рус.ясень
Дерево часто встречающееся в гербах, возможно в силу созвучия с родовыми именами. Это справедливо собственно для ясеня (лат. fraxinus). В случае с рябиной (mountain ash) используется название rowan-tree и, однажды, rodey.
- «Argent, an ash-tree proper issuing from the bung of a tun» – ASHTON, Cornwall.
- «Argent, an ash-tree vert» – ESTWREY .
- «Argent, on a chevron gules between three branches of rowan[or rodey] tree proper, as many crescents or » – RODEY, Liverpool.

Плоды ясеня (крылатки, собранные в метёлки) называются «ashen keys».
