Это животное найдено во многих гербах, в нескольких ранних случаях принимался в герб семей с именами, включающими в себя разные формы слова «Lou». Голова, возможно, встречается, чем целое животное. Может изображаться «rampant», «salient», «combatant», «statant», но чаще всего – просто «passant». Часто присутствуют в нашлемниках, особенно голова.
