Embowed (фр. courbé): искривлённый bent, изогнутый bowed; относится к руке человека, и ещё более часто к дельфинам. Термины flected или flexed также используются для руки человека, означают то же самое.

Французские геральдисты более часто относят слово courbé к поясу, перевязи, и т.д., когда они слегка изогнуты вверх. Английские геральдисты используют по отношению к перевязи, и т.д. в тех же случаях термин arched, enarched, или embowed, но фр. и нем. геральдисты используют их крайне редко. Пример bend embowed дан под Crown of Rue, герцогства Саксонского.

Bowed embowed, and flexed reflexed, are terms used to signify the from of the latter S: the terms also annodated, torqued, &c., and used irregularly for the same: and bowed counter embowed is said of two arms bowed in opposite directions.
