Dove (фр. colombe): голубь Dove – довольно частая гербовая фигура; иногда специально отмечаются обыкновенная горлица (turtle dove) и вяхирь (ringed dove). Также с dove может быть сгруппирован Pigeon, а также родственные Stock-dove (клинтух, птица семейства голубевых) и Wood-pigeon (большой евроазиатский голубь).Был принят как эмблема чистоты, иногда фигурирует как Holy Dove (святой голубь). Существуют привычные термины для обозначения положения голубя, применимые к птицам вообще (см. eagle), наиболее частые – volant (летящий), close (cо сложенными крыльями ), rising (взлетающий), и часто - имеющий оливковую ветвь или какую-либо веточку в клюве, в одном случае встречается «displayed in a glory» (показанный в славе), и также nimbed (с нимбом). Он может быть также membered (показанный частично другим цветом), legged (с ногами другого цвета), beaked, billed (имеющий клюв другого цвета), и т.д, Будет показано, что голубь очень часто встречается в гербах, пожалованных епископам, и иногда используется очевидно из-за сходства с именем.
