Pile рус. острие, свая фр. pile англ. pile Геральдическая фигура предположительно представляющая собой столб, используемый при строительстве перправы/военного моста (military bridge), но может быть образована как часть гербового щита, подобно столбу, поясу или перевязи. Как будет видно, есть различные формы поименования и изменения формы краёв фигуры. The charge is found frequently in the old rolls of arms.

Если острие просто развёрнуто (reversed), т.е. обращено острием вверх, это описывается как перемещённая/переставленная (transposed). Когда острие просквожено, говорят, что «lozenge shape is intended».
