Passion, Implements of the Орудия Страстей. Столь многие гербы прямо или косвенно связаны с религиозными организациями, что не удивительно восприятие/проникновение орудий Страстей в геральдику. Наиболее часто встречаются гвозди (Passion nails, фр. clous de la Passion), изображаемые обычно квадратными с пирамидальной шляпкой. Голгофский крест (Cross of Calvary) уже упоминался в §15. В деревянной и каменной резьбе орудия страстей часто помещаются/включаются, но как религиозный, а не геральдический символ. Можно добавить, что ряд герольдов дошли до приписывания Господу нашему герба, в котором орудия Страстей были использованы (pourtrayed). Но это пример оскорбления, а не применения геральдики (abuse of heraldry, not its use).
