Обычным является металлический сосуд (vessel) или котёл (cauldron) на трёх ножках и с двумя ручками (handles), который можно видеть в оконечности герба BRAZIERS' Company (ныне соединились с Armourers). Некоторые гербы несут обычные горшки, но предназначены они для приготовления пищи или для сервировки стола, видимо, зависит лт обстоятельств. «Porridge-pots» у Дерлингов в другом месте описаны как кувшины (ewers); оловянные горшки (pewter pots) Делвесов вероятно столовые. Герб MONTBOUCHER, данный выше, изначально описывался в разных гербовниках как три «water-pots», а также как три «possenets». См. в ст. Cup – «drinking-pots» и «college pots», в ст. Ewer – «laver-pot», в ст. Founders – «melting-pot; см. т.ж. Lily-pot и Flower-pot.
