Довольно частая геральдическая фигура. Может быть statant, passant, clymant (часто исп. вместо salient или rampant), и когда их два, часто combatant. Также м.б. bearded, crined, unguled, attired (с рогами) и даже, иногда, armed

Ассирийский или индийский козёл Assyrian or Indian Goat почти как обычный козёл, но имеет рога более искривлённые, и уши как у гончей (висячие). Два таких козла, серебряных, рога и копыта золотые, являются щитодержателями герба HABERDASHERS в Лондоне. Среди геральдических фигур найдены два монстра, происходящие от козла, а именно лев-козёл и олень-козёл lion-goat and the deer-goat.
