Barque: «Petit bateau mû à la voile, à la rame ou à moteur».
«The word was originally a synonym of barge, and was used for all sorts of small open boats (cp. barque trouvillaise, below), such as the lighter (v. chaland). It is now recognised as a particular form of sailing ship with three masts, the fore and mainmasts square rigged and the mizzenmast rigged fore and aft».
Barque trouvillaise: «a fishing boat from Trouville, Calvados».
