В случае льва с goutte de sang (усеянного каплями крови), наиболее часто используется термин vulned. В то же время часто львы изображаются с gouttes d'or (усеянный золотыми каплями), и т.д.

В современном французском блазоне термин larmes используется с термином gouttes, и somé de larmes с gouttée. Тинктура указывается всегда, но larmes d'argent – наиболее часто встреаемая.

Иногда геральдические авторы заменяют термин goutte на термин icicle (сосулька), т.е. фигура той же самой формы, но более толстая часть вверху, а острие направлено вниз. Некоторые авторы, называют эти фигуры Clubs, другие Gouttes reversed (капли перевёрнутые), а третьи - Locks of hair(локоны волос). Использование конкретной геральдической фигуры ограничено ветвями одной фамилии.
