Nut or Hazel branch

HASEL-SPRIG. Same as a nut-branch only with three leaves. P. 44, f. 55.

HAZEL. There are two varieties, the common hazel nut and the filbert, met with in Coat Armour ; a branch of the common hazel fructed. P. 44, f. 55.

Hazel лесной орех (лещина) Дерево, листья, орехи представлены в различных гербах; также и фундук (filberts – культурная форма лещины). Иногда встречаются венки из лещины, также белки иногда представлены грызущими орехи. Связка (bunch) орехов фундука во фрацузском блазонировании называется coquerelles.
