Фигура напоминающая алмаз, его диаметр примерно равен каждой из сторон, а у сходного с ним веретена (fusil) – меньше, чем каждая из четырёх сторон, что придает ему более узкий (narrower) вид. Полый (voided) или просквожённый (percée) ромб в соаременной геральдике всегда описывается как «mascle» см.
